Questions About Sak Yant Bangkok: Sak Yant FAQ

We are devotees of the Sak Yant Traditions who over the last few years have become concerned with the changes at Wat Bang Phra and prices of some local Sak Yant Masters in Bangkok.  We know directly that this has happened as the popularity of Sak Yants has increased and Masters are being overwhelmed by people who do not have any understanding of the culture or traditions.

So we wanted to do something about it .... We wanted tourist getting a Sak Yant to be educated and understand the process. We wanted to help avoid people from being ripped off by high prices. We wanted people to understand what the Sak Yant they got means and help them choose a design they love.

We wanted to replicate the Experience that customers of Sak Yant Chiang Mai get ... so we asked them for help, AND they provided it for us.  And we formed a co-op of local Sak Yant Masters who wanted to go that little bit extra for the westerner by providing a one stop shop with translators and education.

We have been interested in Sak Yant Tattoo's in Bangkok for over a decade.  In this time we have visited many Sak Yant Masters and Monks. We have watched as the cost of Sak Yant Tattoos in Bangkok have risen from a couple Thousand baht to sometimes over 30,000.

We know many of the Ajarns, we know how good their art-work is, and we have watched as some grew more famous and more expensive.  So we approached the Sak Yant Masters who still have heart and passion for the traditions, rather than the more famous ones that other western owned tour services use (and charge) for.

At Sak Yant Bangkok we have an online booking system that allows you to prebook a day and time for your traditional Thai tattoo experience in Bangkok with us.  This makes sure you do not miss out by making last minute decisions and finding the Sak Yant Masters are too busy for you.  Our Booking Page
